Natural Deodorant

Let’s talk about natural deodorant;

First of all it’s important to realise the difference between a deodorant and an antiperspirant. The reason is that we often use the term “deodorant” for both when in reality these two products are quite different.

An antiperspirant is mostly used to reduce sweating. The main issue with this is that an antiperspirant doesn’t technically stop you from sweating, it blocks your pores. Nasty chemicals in these products clog your pores which means the sweat can’t escape.

Deodorant though, is used only to curb those unwanted odours. Deodorant allows your body to sweat naturally, which in turn allows your body to naturally flush out bacteria which actually causes the odour.

Believe it or not, sweat stains aren’t caused by sweat! (Whaaaat?!). Turns out it’s actually the aluminum. (Yuck)

But natural deodorant is aluminum free. (Woohoo!!)

Did you know that your body is supposed to sweat?!. Sweating is your body’s natural way to remove toxins and maintain homeostasis.

If you’re continuously blocking your sweat glands, you are forcing those toxins to stay in your body and accumulate…(so gross!)

So many of the chemicals that commercial antiperspirants contain cause skin irritation, dryness, and more. When you remove the nasty chemicals, you’ll notice an immediate difference in your skin.

 Our natural deodorant however does NOT contain bicarb. This is a very common ingredient found in natural deodorants but it is also an irritant! (Not cool)

Let’s discuss the important ingredients you will find in our Natural Deodorant;

Coconut Oil and Shea Butter: extremely moisturising and also used as an antibacterial agent.

Diatomaceous Earth: used to assist the underarms in neutralising odours and absorbing sweat, also works to draw out any toxins and heavy metals from the body.

Vitamin E: helps to nourish and protect your skin.

Essential Oils: These can vary to create a pleasant fragrance as well as some being antibacterial, anti fungal or anti inflammatory.
